US streaming service DC Universe has released a new trailer for their upcoming ‘Harley Quinn‘ animated series, which is very much aimed at an adult audience!
‘Harley Quinn’ follows Harley’s adventures after she breaks up with the Joker and strikes out on her own in this new adult animated comedy. With the help of Poison Ivy and a ragtag crew of DC castoffs, Harley tries to earn a seat at the biggest table in villainy: the Legion of Doom.
The cast is led by ‘Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco who voices Harley and is backed up by an impressive list of talent. Lake Bell (‘BoJack Horseman’, ‘Boston Legal’) provides the voice for Poison Ivy, with Diedrich Bader (‘Veep’, ‘BoJack Horseman’) voicing Batman, and Alan Tudyk (‘Rogue One’, ‘Firefly’), voicing both Joker and Basil Karlo, aka Clayface.
Other cast includes Jim Rash (‘Mike Tyson Mysteries’) as Edward Nigma/Riddler, Ron Funches (‘Powerless’) as King Shark, Christopher Meloni (‘Happy!, Law & Order: SVU’) as Commissioner James Gordon, Tony Hale (‘Arrested Development’, ‘Veep’) as Doctor Psycho & Felix Faust, JB Smoove (‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’) as Frank the Plant, Jason Alexander (‘Seinfeld’) as Sy Borgman, Wanda Sykes (‘Black-ish’) as Queen of Fables, Rahul Kohli (‘iZombie’) as Scarecrow and Giancarlo Esposito (‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Better Call Saul’) as Lex Luthor, plus many more!
As you can see in this, what Americans cousins refer to as “R-rated”, trailer, this version of Harley Quinn is a bit more potty-mouthed than the version we saw way back in ‘Batman: The Animated Series’. It’s a fun new take on DC’s beloved mallet-wielding homicidal maniac.
No news yet on if or where ‘Harley Quinn‘ may air in the UK, but the US can watch it from November 29, 2019, on DC Universe.
