‘The Rookie’ Season 2 Gets January UK Premiere Date On Sky Witness

Sky Witness has set a January UK premiere date for Season 2 of Nathan Fillion’s cop dramedy The Rookie it has been announced.

Written by ‘Castle’ and ‘The Following’ producer/writer Alexi Hawley, Fillion plays John Nolan, the oldest rookie in the LAPD. Based on a true story, it sees the middle-aged Nolan uproot himself from his provincial, small-town life, and move to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of becoming a cop. Joining the other rookie cops, most of which are 20 years younger than himself, he must navigate his way through the often dangerous, and sometimes humorous, new career choice, to make his second shot at life count.

As we head into Season 2, Nolan is six months into his career as a cop. As he embarks on the second half of his rookie year, he will be put to the test by a host of new challenges, romantic relationships and deadly criminals, as he looks to figure out what kind of cop he ultimately wants to be. In episode 1, danger is ever-present as the officers of the mid-Wilshire precinct grapple with the aftermath of a plotted attack on the city of Los Angeles, leaving officer Bradford fighting for his life.

Alongside Fillion, the series stars Alyssa Diaz as Angela Lopez, Richard T. Jones as Sergeant Wade Grey, Titus Makin as Jackson West, Melissa O’Neil as Lucy Chen and Eric Winter as Tim Bradford.

The show comes from The Mark Gordon Company (‘Designated Survivor’, ‘Quantico’, ‘Ray Donovan’) and ABC Studios, with Hawley and Fillion exec producing alongside Michelle Chapman and Jon Steinberg.

The Rookie’ Season 2 premieres Thursday, 16th January 2020 at 9pm on Sky Witness & NOW TV.
