Netflix Releases Trailer & February Premiere Date For ‘I Am Not Okay With This’ From People Behind ‘The End of the F***king World’ & ‘Stranger Things’

Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for I Am Not Okay With This, an adaptation of the Charles Forsman graphic novel from ‘The End of the F***ing World’s Jonathan Entwistle and the producers of ‘Stranger Things’.

The series is an irreverent origin story that follows a teenage girl who’s navigating the trials and tribulations of high school, all while dealing with the complexities of her family and her budding sexuality. Oh… and also, the mysterious superpowers which are just beginning to awaken deep within her!

The clip really doesn’t give much away, where we see Sophia Lillis (‘It’ franchise, ‘Gretel & Hansel’, ‘Sharp Objects’) as Sydney walking to school, only to be stopped by Stanley Barber, played by Wyatt Oleff (‘It’ franchise, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise) in his car, with an excruciatingly slow-rolling window. It does have a rather lovely off-kilter feel to it though, so will be interesting to see more.

Other cast in the series includes Sofia Bryant (‘The Good Wife’, ‘The Code’) as Dina, Kathleen Rose Perkins (‘Episodes’, ‘You’re The Worst’) as Maggie, Aidan Wojtak-Hissong (‘The Mission’, ‘Falling Water’) as Liam, and Richard Ellis as Brad Lewis.

‘I Am Not Okay With This’ comes from Jonathan Entwistle, director and exec producer of ‘The End of the F***ing World’, who co-created the series with writer Christy Hall. ‘Stranger Things’ Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen and Josh Barry exec produce for 21 Laps Entertainment.

A collected trade paperback of Forsman’s original ‘I Am Not Okay With This’ micro comic-book was published back in 2017 and is available here. The tv adaptation consists of 7 x 30 minutes episodes.

I Am Not Okay With This‘, Season 1, premieres Wednesday, 26th February 2020 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
