Sky One Sets March UK Premiere Date For Coogan & Brydon’s ‘The Trip To Greece’
Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon are off on another adventure, as Sky One sets a March UK premiere date for Season 4 of the multi-award-winning and much-loved comedy series ‘The Trip‘.
The Sky original series, from Revolution Films and directed by Michael Winterbottom, will see Steve and Rob’s fictionalised characters embark on a road trip around Greece for a fresh helping of gastronomic adventures. The six-part series is succulently seasoned with laughter, impressions and scintillating conversation.
‘The Trip to Greece’ is sure to satisfy viewers’ palettes as the duo lock horns over tragedy, comedy, myth and history. All while dining on cuisine traditional to beautiful Greek hot spots including Assos, Kavala, Stagira, Athens, Epidaurus, Hydra and Plyos among many, many others.
“What a joy to go island hopping with the incomparable Steve and Rob,” comments Sky Studios’ Director of Comedy, Jon Mountague. “Greece is the birthplace of democracy but more importantly the birthplace of Michael Winterbottom’s latest vision, which we can’t wait to share with our customers. The series follows on from Sky original ‘The Trip to Spain’, which saw the duo venture from Getaria to Malaga in 2017, securing Rob Brydon a BAFTA nomination for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme.
‘The Trip to Greece’ is directed by Michael Winterbottom, produced by Melissa Parmenter and Josh Haynes for Revolution Films, Baby Cow and Small Man productions. It was commissioned by Jon Mountague and Sky’s Managing Director of Content Zai Bennett for Sky One.
Other forthcoming Sky original comedies include ‘Code 404’ with Stephen Graham and Daniel Mays; ‘Intelligence’ fronted by David Schwimmer and Nick Mohammed; ‘Hit Men’, Mel and Sue’s first scripted comedy series, as well as ‘Breeders’ with Martin Freeman.
‘The Trip to Greece‘ premieres Tuesday, 3rd March 2020 at 10pm on Sky One.
