Netflix Reveals “First Look” Images & May Premiere Date For Comedy ‘Space Force’ From Steve Carell & Greg Daniels
Netflix has released a set of “first look” images and a May premiere date for comedy series ‘Space Force‘, from ‘The Office (US)’s Steve Carell & Greg Daniels.
From co-creators Carell and Greg Daniels (‘The Office’), ‘Space Force’ is a new kind of workplace comedy, where the stakes are sky-high and the ambitions even higher. A decorated pilot with dreams of running the Air Force, four-star general Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell) is thrown for a loop when he finds himself tapped to lead the newly formed sixth branch of the US Armed Forces: Space Force. Sceptical but dedicated, Mark uproots his family and moves to a remote base in Colorado where he and a colourful team of scientists and “Spacemen” are tasked by the White House with getting American boots on the moon (again) in a hurry and achieving total space dominance.
Joining Carell, the series stars John Malkovich (‘The New Pope’), Diana Silvers (‘Booksmart’, ‘MA’), Tawny Newsome (‘Brockmire’) and Ben Schwartz (‘Parks and Recreation’, ‘House of Lies’) also star, alongside co-stars Jimmy O. Yang (‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Crazy Rich Asians’), Noah Emmerich (‘The Truman Show’, ‘The Americans’), Alex Sparrow (‘Unreal’) and Don Lake (‘NCIS’, ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’).
Also announced today is Emmy and SAG Award-winning ‘Friends’ actress Lisa Kudrow who has joined the cast in the recurring role of Maggie Naird, the wife of Steve Carell’s General. Maggie is a Washington Air Force wife who has sublimated parts of herself to her husband’s career for two decades. But as he takes on his biggest challenge, she is growing in a different direction.
Howard Klein (‘The Office’) serves as executive producer, along with Carell and Daniels. 3 Arts Entertainment (‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’, ‘The Office’, ‘Parks and Rec’) produce the series.
‘Space Force‘ Season 1 premieres Friday, 29th May 2020 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
