Sky One Finally Sets July UK Premiere Dates For ‘MacGyver’ Season 4 & ‘S.W.A.T.’ Season 3

After a couple of false starts and very late changes, Sky One has finally set July premiere dates for S.W.A.T. Season 3, and MacGyver Season 4 it has been confirmed.

A reimagining of the classic series, ‘MacGyver’ follows 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver (Lucas Till), who creates a clandestine organization within the U.S. government where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives.

This season sees a few changes as Ex-MI6 agent Russ Taylor (Henry Ian Cusick – ‘The 100’, ‘Lost’) recruits former Phoenix Foundation members Mac, Riley (Tristin Mays), Bozer (Justin Hires), Matty (Meredith Eaton) and Desi (Levy Tran) to hunt down a bioweapon that’s planned to be used by a mysterious organization for a devastating attack on a major U.S. city.

You may notice Jack Dalton is missing from that list, due to George Eads leaving the show. On-screen, Dalton was reassigned from the Phoenix Foundation to head up an elite international task force dedicated hunting the terrorist Tiberius Kovac.

Inspired by the television series and the feature film, ‘S.W.A.T.’ stars Shemar Moore as a former Marine and locally born and raised S.W.A.T. sergeant, tasked to run a specialized tactical unit that is the last stop in law enforcement in Los Angeles.

As we return for Season 3, The SWAT team works with Lieutenant Piper Lynch (Amy Farrington), a senior LAPD Hollywood Division officer, when the mayor assigns her to oversee city departments joining forces to stop a serial bomber using drones as detonation devices. Also, just as Hondo settles into legal guardianship of his teen charge, Darryl (Deshae Frost), his home life becomes more complicated when his estranged father (Obba Babatundé) unexpectedly moves in.

Alongside Moore, the series stars Alex Russell as Street, Lina Esco as Alonso, Kenny Johnson as Luca, Jay Harrington as Deacon and David Lim as Tan. ‘S.W.A.T.’ also has some cast changes as Stephanie Sigman, who played Captain Cortez, decided to leave the show. On-screen, Cortez was last seen in the Season 2 finale doing undercover work with the FBI, but it seems she has decided to make that move a permanent one.

MacGyver‘ Season 4 and ‘S.W.A.T.‘ Season 3 both premiere Sunday, 26th July 2020 at 8pm and 9pm on Sky One.
