‘The Walking Dead’ Season 10 “Finale” Gets October Premiere On AMC (US) & Extends Season By 6 Episodes!

If you’re lacking zombies in your life, October is the month for you! AMC in the US has announced the delayed The Walking Dead Season 10 “finale” will finally arrive in October, followed directly by The Walking Dead: World Beyond, then a week later, the return of Fear The Walking Dead for Season 6. They have also announced that whilst (as rather expected) Season 11 won’t air in it’s normal October 2020 slot due to the global pandemic, they are extending Season 10 by 6 episodes, which will air in 2021.

We haven’t officially had the UK premiere dates yet, but in all three cases, the shows usually air the next day, with TWD on Fox UK and FTWD airing on AMC UK. When it was initially announced ‘World Beyond’ would be airing on Amazon Prime UK, the premiere was set for the next day following the broadcast on AMC in the US, so we’d expect that to be the same with the revised date.

UPDATE: The Walking Dead season 10 finale will air Monday, 5th October 2020 at 9pm on FOX UK. They have also released a sneak peek of the episode, which you see below (it’s the same clip as in the panel at the bottom of the article). AMC UK has also confirmed ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ Season 6 premieres Monday 12th October 2020 at 9pm.

‘The Walking Dead’ left our heroes in a rather precarious situation. After a period of relative peace, the various survivor groups were, once again, dealing with The Whisperers who had returned in full force under the leadership of Alpha (Samantha Morton). Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) had seemingly joined The Whisperers and was rising in the ranks, much to the annoyance of Beta (Ryan Hurst). However, it was all a ruse, orchestrated with Carol (Melissa McBride) to allow Negan to get close enough to take the head (quite literally) of the snake. Negan uses Lydia (Cassady McClincy) to lure Alpha to a secluded spot and decapitates her. This led to an enraged Beta leading The Whisperers and their horde to attack Alexandria, along with carving a new mask using part of Alpha’s face… Discovering Alexandria empty, they soon find out that the remaining Alexandrians have sheltered in a nearby hospital, and we leave them as they march (or slowly shuffle) toward the enemy.

Meanwhile, at Hilltop, Eugene (Josh McDermitt) had been having secret radio conversations with a mystery woman, who we eventually find out is named Stephanie, voiced by Margot Bingham (who is set to join the cast in-person for Season 11). Eugene, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) head out to meet the mystery lady, only to stumble across the wonderfully bonkers Princess (Paola Lázaro) along the way, who (after a rocky start!) joins the group.

We’ll let you know when we have confirmed UK premiere dates, however, ‘The Walking Dead‘ Season 10 “finale” is set to premiere Sunday, October 4, 2020, at 9pm followed by ‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond‘ Season 1 at 10pm on AMC US. ‘Fear The Walking Dead‘ Season 6 premieres Sunday, October 11, 2020, at 9pm on AMC US.
