#DCFanDome Reveals ‘Gotham Knights’ Video Game From WB Games Montreal Coming 2021

by Dave Elliott

As DCFanDome kicks off, WB Games Montreal reveals what the new open-world, third-person action RPG Batman videogame they’ve been working, ‘Gotham Knights’, which kicks off from a unique starting point… Batman is dead…

With The Dark Knight “gone” (I mean… let’s be honest, he’s not going to be dead…) it’s up to the “Bat-Family” to collectively pick up the mantle. Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin are tasked by the deceased Bruce Wayne in a video message to protect Gotham City, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals.

These “Gotham Knights” find themselves all alone to restore order in Gotham and chase infamous villains through the dark alleys and paved streets of the city. Players embody Batgirl, fighter and hacker extraordinaire, Nightwing, wise leader and duel master, Red Hood, intensely strong and weaponry-skilled, and Robin, expert fighter and genius detective-like thinker.

Along with the cinematic trailer above, WB also dropped some in-game footage (see below) featuring Batgirl and Robin taking on Mr Freeze, one of several Villain encounters found within the city. You can see them use a variety of abilities, weapons, and unique combat moves to neutralise their foes.

One of the other big villains featured in the game would seem to be the Court Of Owls, the mysterious cabal, who have been pulling the strings of Gotham from behind the scenes for decades. Of course, if the Owls are involved, that means you’ll have to face their highly-skilled assassins, the Talons.

‘Gotham Knights’ will be released at some point in 2021.
