‘Cobra Kai’ Renewed For Season 4 & Season 3 Gets January Premiere Date On Netflix!

by Dave Elliott

Netflix has dropped some great news for Cobra Kai fans today! Not only will the 3rd Season be arriving in January 2021, but also the streaming service has renewed the karate drama for a 4th Season too!

‘Cobra Kai’ takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now-successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi and must face his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.

Season 3 finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel (Xolo Mariduena) in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese (Martin Kove) further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance.

The series originally aired as a YouTube Original, but when the streaming platform opted to move away from original scripted drama to unscripted shows, Sony Pictures Television, who produce the drama, made a deal to move the show to Netflix. Since the launch of Seasons 1 and 2 on the platform, it has found a new audience and has been riding high in their Top Ten lists.

‘Cobra Kai’ is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Overbrook Entertainment along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka serve as co-executive producers.

Cobra Kai‘ Season 3 premieres Friday, 8th January 2020 on Netflix UK and worldwide, but you can catch up on Seasons 1 & 2 right now
