Geektown BTS Podcast 30: ‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’ Production Designer Melanie Jones Interview

Welcome to the latest Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast. On this episode, I’m chatting with Melanie Jones, Production Designer on the wonderful Bill & Ted Face The Music.

In the third instalment of the film series, a visitor from the future tells best friends Bill and Ted that only their song can save all life on Earth as we know it, and bring harmony to the universe… The only problem is, the boys have yet to write it, and they aren’t getting any younger, so they set out on their next adventure to find the song and save the world!

Melanie Jones is an award-winning Los Angeles based production designer, with a diverse body of work which includes commercials, television, feature films, print and stage design. Her previous work includes things such as the horror film, ‘The Curse of La Llorona‘, Mötley Crüe biopic ‘The Dirt‘, ABC comedy ‘Bless this Mess‘, and the Oscar-winning movie ‘Whiplash’.

Melanie, who we previously interviewed for ‘The Dirt’, talks us through her work on ‘Bill & Ted Face The Music’ which includes things such as designing hell (along with Death’s new home), creating the future, and building an entire section of an LA freeway in a New Orleans parking lot!
