Charlie Cox Rumoured To Be Returning As Daredevil… In Spider-man 3!

We’re somewhat getting to the point where it’ll be easier to list the people who are not going to appear in ‘Spider-Man 3’, but according to some reputable reports today, Charlie Cox will be reprising his role as Daredevil, joining the ever-expanding cast of the upcoming movie!

Cox originally played Marvel’s Daredevil/Matt Murdock in the Netflix series, which the streaming service cancelled back in 2018 after 3 Seasons. Whilst the characters belong to Marvel, there was a clause in the Marvel/Netflix contract which banned the use of the characters on screen for 2 years… That clause expired at the end of last month.

According to the site Murphys Multiverse, a deal has been signed with Cox to allow Marvel Overlord Kevin Feige to bring Daredevil over to work alongside Spider-Man, as he has done numerous times in the comic books. As to which Spider-Man… there are apparently going to be a few to pick from…

If you’ve not been following the stories about ‘Spider-Man 3′, although we don’t have any specifics on the story, it seems to be heavily embracing the idea of a “Spider-verse”. Alongside current Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Tom Holland, the movie is also supposed to include both Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man from the previous film iterations. In addition to that, Kirsten Dunst is set to return as Maguire’s MJ, and Alfred Molina as his Doctor Octopus, whilst Emma Stone is said to be returning as Garfield’s Gwen Stacy, along with his villain Electro, played by Jamie Foxx.

If all that wasn’t enough, Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role of Doctor Strange from the MCU. We should also note, the next Doctor Strange film is called ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, so messing around in a multiverse in the new Spidey film, does make a certain amount of sense.

On top of that cast, Zendaya is set to return as MJ, along with Jacob Batalon as Ned, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Tony Revolori as “Flash” Thompson, and, quite possibly, J.K. Simmons who already reprised his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the post-credits scene of ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’.

We’ll have to wait and see if this turns out to be true when the (currently untitled) ‘Spider-Man 3’ lands, which is currently scheduled for a December 2021 release.
