As Adult Swim drops a trailer for the hugely anticipated 5th Season of ‘Rick and Morty‘, E4 has announced the brilliant animated comedy will return in June 2021 in the UK.
The award-winning half-hour animated hit comedy series follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe. Rick Sanchez is living with his daughter Beth’s family and constantly bringing her, his son-in-law Jerry, granddaughter Summer, and grandson Morty into intergalactic escapades.
‘Rick and Morty’ stars Justin Roiland (‘Solar Opposites’), Sarah Chalke (‘Firefly Lane’), Chris Parnell (‘Saturday Night Live’), and Spencer Grammer (‘Greek’). The series is created by Dan Harmon (‘Community’) and Roiland, who also serve as executive producers.
The reason for E4 (in a rather uncharacteristic move) announcing the premiere date so far out is due to Adult Swim declaring Sunday, 20th June 2021 “Rick and Morty Day”, where the series will get a global release around the world at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT, which, due to the time difference, will probably mean it landing sometime after 8am on Monday, 21st June 2021 in the UK.
‘Rick and Morty‘ Season 5 will air Monday, 21st June 2021 at 10pm on E4 in the UK.
