‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Season 4 Gets “First Look” Trailer, Premiering in 2021

Star Trek: Discovery is back, with a new Captain, some shiny new uniforms, and a “first look” trailer as Paramount+ reveals the series will return later in 2021.

The 4th season finds newly appointed Captain Burnham and the crew of the U.S.S. Discovery facing a threat unlike any they’ve ever encountered. With Federation and non-Federation worlds alike feeling the impact, they must confront the unknown and work together to ensure a hopeful future for all.

It’s been a crazy ride over the last few seasons for the crew of the USS Discovery (WARNING SPOILERS). Season 1 began in a time period ten years before the events of the original ‘Star Trek’ series and followed Sonequa Martin-Green as Michael Burnham, a wayward Starfleet Officer who finds herself on the USS Discovery as she learns that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. During Season 2, they worked with the crew of the USS Enterprise, under Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount), to battle “Control”, an artificial intelligence who is destined to destroy… well… everything, but needs Discovery to do that. To avoid this fate, Discovery uses a wormhole and leap 900 years into the future, and out of Control’s reach. The 3rd Season saw our heroes now in the future where an event called “The Burn” had destroyed most of the galaxy’s dilithium and most of Starfleet’s ships. With the galaxy disconnected and the Federation a shadow of its former self, Discovery’s ability to use the spore drive to jump anywhere becomes all the more important.

Alongside Sonequa Martin-Green, returning for Season 4 are Doug Jones (Saru), Anthony Rapp (Paul Stamets), Mary Wiseman (Sylvia Tilly), Wilson Cruz (Dr. Hugh Culber), David Ajala (Cleveland “Book” Booker), Blu del Barrio (Adira) and Ian Alexander (Gray). The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.

Star Trek: Discovery‘ Season 4 will stream on Paramount+ in the US later in 2021, and on Netflix in 190 countries, including the UK. The series airs in Canada on CTV Sci-Fi Channel and streams on Crave.
