CBS Renews ‘Blue Bloods’, ‘Bull’, ‘NCIS’, ‘Magnum’ & ‘S.W.A.T.’

CBS has given out renewals to a bunch of its veteran shows, as they announce Blue Bloods, ‘Bull, NCIS, Magnum & S.W.A.T. will all return for new seasons.

We’re heading into that time of year again when all the tv shows get handed renewals and cancellations. This has traditionally culminated in a Friday-night bloodbath sometime around early May. Things changed a little last year due to the pandemic throwing the schedules all over the place, as the US networks attempted to get a grip on how they were going to handle the chaos. However, this year seems to have (somewhat) returned to normal, with the fluffiest of networks, The CW, handing out 12 renewals back in February, whilst the other networks drip-feed their renewals over the following months up until May.

There are no big surprises in these renewals from CBS. ‘NCIS’ will return for Season 19, and whilst it may have lost one family member, with ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ getting cancelled back in Feb, it may have a new show on the way with ‘NCIS: Hawaii’, although that is not yet confirmed.

‘Blue Bloods’, led by the worlds greatest acting moustache (which happens to be attached to the face of Tom Selleck) will be back for Season 12, alongside ‘S.W.A.T.’ which returns for Season 5, ‘Magnum P.I.’ for Season 4 and ‘Bull’ for Season 6.

They join previously renewed dramas which include freshman series ‘The Equalizer’ which is back for Season 2, ‘FBI’ for Season 4 and ‘FBI: Most Wanted’ for Season 3. They sit with comedies ‘Bob Hearts Abishola’ which lands a 3rd Season, ‘The Neighborhood’ for Season 4, and ‘Young Sheldon’ which bagged a massive three-season renewal, taking it up to Season 7.

Still sitting out in the CBS wilderness are freshman shows ‘B Positive’ and ‘Clarice’, NCIS middle-child – ‘NCIS: Los Angeles’, David Boreanaz drama ‘SEAL Team’, and legal drama ‘All Rise’, along with comedies ‘The Unicorn’ and ‘United States of Al’. We should find out the fate of these at some point over the next few weeks.

Blue Bloods‘ airs on Sky Witness in the UK whilst ‘Bull‘ and ‘NCIS‘ air on FOX UK. ‘Magnum‘ & ‘S.W.A.T.‘ both air on Sky One.
