‘Biohackers’: German Sci-fi Drama Returns For Season 2 This July On Netflix

The brilliant German-language sci-fi drama Biohackers returns this July for a 2nd Season Netflix has announced.

From THC chips to genetic enhancements, the drama welcomes you to the world of Biohacking. Written and directed by Christian Ditter (‘Girlboss’, ‘Turkish for Beginners’) the series follows a medical student who discovers the use of highly advanced biohacking technology in her university town and has to decide how far she is willing to go to find out the truth. When “Mia” (Luna Wedler) begins her medical degree, she seems like any other student. But as she gains the trust of the brilliant Professor Lorenz (Jessica Schwarz), it becomes apparent that she’s hiding a secret so big it could change the fate of humanity.

As we head into Season 2, after being abducted, Mia finds herself with no recollection of what happened since. But when she discovers a message she has written to her future self, she comes to understand that her life is in imminent danger if she doesn’t solve the mystery of her disappearance. In order to do so, she has to team up with the woman she trusts the least… Prof Lorenz.

‘Biohackers’ comes from Christian Ditter who is writer, director and showrunner. The drama is produced by Uli Putz and Jakob Claussen of Claussen+Putz Filmproduktion. The music for the show is composed by friend of Geektown, Fil Eisler. You can listen to our latest interview with him here.

Biohackers‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 9th July 2021 on Netflix UK and worldwide. The series is available either dubbed in English or in the original German with subtitles.
