‘Truth Be Told’: Season 2 Of Apple TV+ Award-Winning Series Gets A Trailer & Aug Premiere

Apple TV+ has released a trailer and August premiere date for Season 2 of their award-winning drama Truth Be Told, which sees Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer joined by Academy Award nominee Kate Hudson in her first lead role in a television series.

Season 2 of the NAACP Image Award-winning drama follows investigative reporter turned true-crime podcaster Poppy Parnell (Spencer) as she dives into a new case that deeply involves her childhood friend, media mogul Micah Keith (Hudson). As developments unfold, their lifelong friendship is put to the ultimate test.

In addition to Hudson, joining for season two are series regulars Christopher Backus (‘Bosch’, ‘Mindhunter’), Alona Tal (‘Supernatural’), David Lyons (‘Seven Seconds’, ‘ER’), Andre Royo (‘Empire’, ‘The Wire’), Merle Dandridge (‘Sons of Anarchy’, ‘The Flight Attendant’) and Mychala Faith Lee. Returning cast includes Mekhi Phifer, Michael Beach, Ron Cephas Jones, Tracie Thoms, Haneefah Wood, Tami Roman and Katherine LaNasa.

‘Truth Be Told’ is created by Nichelle Tramble Spellman and produced by Hello Sunshine, Chernin Entertainment and Endeavor Content. Serving as executive producers alongside Spellman are Octavia Spencer; Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter for Hello Sunshine; Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping for Chernin Entertainment; and Mikkel Nørgaard.

Truth Be Told‘ Season 2 premieres Friday, 20th August 2021 with the first episode, followed by new episodes weekly every Friday.
