‘Black-ish’ Season 6 Finally Gets A UK Premiere Date On E4 This July

It seems someone may have removed the drinks cabinet from the E4 scheduler’s office, as they finally set a UK premiere date for Black-ish Season 6.

‘Black-ish’, follows The Johnsons, an upper-middle-class African-American family led by Andre ‘Dre’ (Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow ‘Bow’ (Tracee Ellis Ross) Johnson. Like any parent, want to give their children the best, but their offspring’s childhood is turning out to be much different than theirs.

That cast includes Anthony Anderson as Andre “Dre” Johnson, Tracee Ellis Ross as Rainbow Johnson, Yara Shahidi as Zoey Johnson, Marcus Scribner as Andre Johnson Jr., Miles Brown as Jack Johnson, Marsai Martin as Diane Johnson, Laurence Fishburne as Pops, Jenifer Lewis as Ruby, Peter Mackenzie as Mr. Stevens, Deon Cole as Charlie Telphy and Jeff Meacham as Josh.

Over the course of its run, ‘Black-ish’ has received 15 Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Comedy, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy (Anthony Anderson), Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy (Tracee Ellis Ross) and Outstanding Contemporary Costume (Michelle R. Cole and Devon Patterson). The series also received a prestigious Peabody Award in 2016 and the American Film Institute selected the show as one of their Television Honorees for 2015. Tracee Ellis Ross won a Golden Globe Award in 2017 for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series, Comedy.

We’re running a bit behind in the UK on the series, which was recently renewed for an 8th and final season on ABC in the USA. The E4 schedulers seem to have sobered up enough to actually schedule some shows over the last few weeks, as ‘Harley Quinn’ returned for Season 2, along with ‘Rick and Morty’ Season 5, and ‘Batwoman’ Season 2… Although you have to hunt around a bit for ‘Batwoman’ as they keep moving the time (I mean, they wouldn’t want to make it too easy for viewers…)

Black-ish‘ Season 6 premieres Tuesday, 6th July 2021 at 4.30pm on E4, with further episodes going out daily at 4pm throughout the week. The previous 5 Seasons of the comedy can be found via STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
