The Arrival of Star Wars Visions, And Three Other Reasons to Stay Home This Autumn

We don’t often need convincing to stay at home: it’s warm, it’s comfortable, and it’s where our fridge and TV are! But if you’re fresh from a summer of socialising and aren’t quite ready to return to the homebody life then the good news is that there are plenty of exciting options to entice you to make the sofa life.

One of the main attractions of this fall’s TV schedule is the arrival of Star Wars Visions to Disney+: these anime-inspired shorts are the newest highly-anticipated addition to the Star Wars family. Presenting Star Wars in a uniquely new cultural perspective, the series of short films launches on 22nd September and we can’t wait! If you’re not a Star Wars fan then don’t worry: here are three other exciting reasons to stay home this fall:

Do You Want to Play a Game?

If new and exciting TV shows aren’t enough to entice you to stay at home then why not look at the online gaming arena? PS5 fans are already looking forward to Deathloop: an assassin-based shoot ‘em up with a unique cyclical approach, which is released on 21st September 2021. The FarCry series is also getting an upgrade with FarCry 6, which launches on 7th October across both the XBox and Playstation networks.

If you’re looking for something a little lighter then online casino gaming also continues to evolve and innovate. This fall provides the ideal time to enjoy the most interesting new slots, and to try your hand at exploring online gambling and technological innovation, which so often go hand in hand. From virtual reality casino gaming to live-action table games, it is now possible to experience all the fun and excitement of flying across the Atlantic to visit your favourite Las Vegas casino, but from the comfort of your own sofa (you don’t even have to get dressed, if you don’t want to!)

Stand Up, and Start Laughing

With the doom and gloom of the night’s drawing in, and the temperatures starting to drop, it’s the perfect time to lighten the mood with a little laughter, and watch something funny. Enter Greg Davis. The veteran funnyman has created a new comedy series for BBC One called ‘The Cleaner’: following the life of a crime scene cleaner with his trademark deadpan humour. The show, which launches on 10th September, has an all-star cast, and is a guaranteed antidote to the winter blues.

Sticking to the comedy theme, but from the other side of the pond, the Ted Danson and Holly Hunter comedy series ‘Mr Mayor’ is also due to launch in September, on the 24th September via Sky Comedy. This has been incredibly well received in the States, and so it is currently being eagerly anticipated in the UK. In conjunction, these two shows should keep you in fits of laughter that will drive away the winter blues and keep you glued to your sofa.

Conclusion

Let’s face it, if Summer is for socialising then Fall is for snuggling under a blanket on the sofa and staying at home. Luckily, the screen-based entertainment experts have come up trumps this year and given us an abundance of reasons to relax, unwind, and avoid having to leave the house! Whether you’re excited to reemerge yourself in the Star Wars Universe, want to laugh along to the latest comedies series, or pick up your laptop and immerse yourself in the world of online gaming, the possibilities are near-endless. There are enough great options to keep you occupied all the way until Christmas!
