‘Young Sheldon’: Season 4 Gets October UK Premiere Date On E4

Young Sheldon Season 4 has finally landed on E4’s Random Wheel Of Scheduling, as the broadcaster announces an October UK premiere date.

The comedy follows nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) as he struggles with growing up in East Texas. Possessing a once-in-a-generation mind capable of advanced mathematics and science isn’t always helpful in a land where church and football are kings. And, while the vulnerable, gifted and naive Sheldon deals with the world, his family must find a way to deal with him.

His father, George, is struggling to find his way as a high school football coach and as father to a boy he doesn’t understand. Sheldon’s mother, Mary, fiercely protects and nurtures her son in a town where he just doesn’t fit in. Sheldon’s older brother, Georgie, does the best he can in high school, but it’s tough to be cool when you’re in the same classes with your odd younger brother. Sheldon’s twin sister, Missy, sometimes resents all the attention Sheldon gets, but also remains the one person who can reliably tell Sheldon the truth. Finally, there’s Sheldon’s beloved Meemaw, his foul-mouthed, hard-drinking Texas grandmother who is very supportive of her grandson and his unique gifts.

Alongside Armitage, the series stars Zoe Perry as Sheldon’s mother, Mary (Perry also being the real-life daughter of Laurie Metcalf, who played Mary in the main series.) Lance Barber stars as father George, whilst Montana Jordan plays older brother Georgie, and Raegan Revord rounds out the family as twin sister Missy.

As we head into Season 4, after graduating high school, Sheldon has a breakdown when he realises that he may not be ready for college. And Dale tries to make amends with Meemaw. Sheldon also gets his dream summer job at the local train museum, whilst George and Missy bond when Missy embarks on a new stage of womanhood, and Georgie discovers Mary’s guilty pleasure.

Young Sheldon‘ Season 4 premieres Wednesday, 20th October 2021 at 9pm, and will air as a double-bill of the first two episodes.
