Dexter and his “Dark Passenger” return to the UK this November in Dexter: New Blood, as Sky announces the upcoming revival series will premiere a day after the USA on Sky Atlantic and NOW.

Michael C. Hall returns as Dexter Morgan, a complicated and conflicted man, who previously worked as a blood-spatter expert for the Miami police department, but also moonlights as a serial killer. Set 10 years after Dexter went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the revival series finds him living under an assumed name in the fictional small town of Iron Lake, New York. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger inevitably beckons.

Other cast for the show includes Clancy Brown (‘Highlander’, ‘Sleepy Hollow’, ‘Billions’) as Kurt Caldwell, who is lined up as the main antagonist in the series; Julia Jones (‘The Mandalorian’, ‘Goliath’) as Angela Bishop, the first Native American Chief of Police in the town, and Dexter’s love interest; Johnny Sequoyah (‘Believe’) as Audrey, Bishop’s brash and opinionated teenage daughter; Alano Miller (‘Sylvie’s Love’) as Logan, a sergeant for the Iron Lake Police Department and the assistant wrestling coach for the local high school;  David Magidoff (‘The Morning Show’) as Teddy, a new cop in Iron Lake PD, who is good-natured, quirky, hardworking, eager to please, and dependable; And Jamie Chung (‘Lovecraft Country’, ‘The Gifted’) as a famous LA true-crime podcaster who finds herself caught up in the central mystery.

The recent trailer (below) has some interesting surprises, including some shots of Jennifer Carpenter as Debra Morgan, Dexter’s very much dead sister. The other big reveal is that Jack Alcott (‘The Good Lord Bird’) will be playing Dexter’s teenage son Harrison, who mysteriously returns to Dexter’s life after 10 years apart.

The eight-season run of the original ‘Dexter’ premiered in the autumn of 2006 on Showtime in the USA and became one of the most acclaimed series on television. The drama earning multiple Emmy nominations for best television drama series as well as a prestigious Peabody Award in 2008, and was twice named one of AFI’s top 10 television series.

Dexter: New Blood‘ premieres Monday, 8th November 2021 at 10pm on Sky Atlantic and the NOW streaming service in the UK. The drama airs Sunday, November 7, 2021, on Showtime in the USA.
