‘The Flash’: Grant Gustin Finally Gets His Golden Boots In Season 8! #DCFanDome

The Flash will be getting a costume tweak in Season 8, making for a very happy Grant Gustin, who had been petitioning for this addition for a while…

For season eight of The Flash, Barry Allen aka The Flash (Gustin) will be sporting some fancy new footwear — a pair of gold boots! Although the Speedster’s supersuit has been evolving over the years, the iconic gold boots from DC comic books had not materialized until now. When asked about the upgrade at DC FanDome, Gustin described them as “the final element that’s been missing. I’ve loved all the versions of The Flash suit we’ve had on the show, but the suit we have now is the closest to the many iterations you see in the comic books — with the exception of those gold boots! I’ve always felt that those boots would be the final touch.”

That is not the only change though, as we also get the official first look at The Flash’s new suit (above), which features a newly designed centre crest and wings. The complete new look was revealed today at the DC FanDome event.

The eighth season is set to kick off with the “Armageddon” event which sees a powerful alien threat arrive on Earth under mysterious circumstances. Barry, Iris (Candice Patton) and the rest of Team Flash are pushed to their limits in a desperate battle to save the world, but with time running out, and the fate of humanity at stake, Flash and his companions will also need to enlist the help of some old friends if the forces of good are to prevail.

Those “old friends” will include Brandon Routh returning as Ray Palmer aka The Atom, Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Kat McNamara as Mia Queen and Osric Chau as Ryan Choi. There are also going to be some villains returning, as Tom Cavanagh reprises his role as Eobard Thawne aka Reverse-Flash, and Neal McDonough will be back as Damien Darhk. Whether Cavanagh will end up pulling double duties as Harrison Wells remains to be seen.

The Flash‘ Season 7 is currently airing on Sky Max in the UK.
