‘Macgruber’: Peacock Sets January UK Premiere Date For Action Comedy

by Dave Elliott

Peacock has set a January UK premiere date for Macgruber, an action-comedy parody of the classic ‘MacGyver’ series, based on the SNL sketch, and sequel to the 2010 film.

After rotting in prison for over a decade, America’s ultimate hero and uber patriot MacGruber (Will Forte) is finally released. His mission: to take down a mysterious villain from his past – Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth (Mickey Rourke). With the entire world in the crosshairs, MacGruber must reassemble his old team, Vicki St. Elmo (Kristen Wiig) and Dixon Piper (Ryan Phillippe) in order to defeat the forces of evil.

The series also stars Laurence Fishburne as General Barrett Fasoose and Billy Zane as Brigadier Commander Enos Queeth. The series also features Joseph Lee Anderson, Timothy V. Murphy, and Marielle Heller in recurring roles.

Along with taking the starring role, Will Forte serves as writer, showrunner, and executive producer. John Solomon and Jorma Taccone both direct and exec produce. Lorne Michaels, John Goldwyn, Andrew Singer, and Erin David also serve as exec producers.

For those of you unsure where to find Peacock UK, it is available exclusively to Sky Glass, Sky Q, Sky+, Sky Go and NOW (Entertainment Pass) customers. You’ll find it under the “Catch up TV” section on Sky, or just say “Peacock” into your voice remote.

Macgruber‘ Season 1 premieres Sunday, 16th January 2022 on Peacock UK.
