Premieres Coming To Disney+ UK & STAR In February 2022
As we head into the second month of 2022, we have a stack of new content dropping on Disney+ and Star in the UK this February. They include the return of the zombie apocalypse, a much talked about biopic, action-packed films, some more exclusive tv drama, documentaries, comedy, and other things to keep you entertained on those cold UK nights. Here is the full breakdown.
Disney+ & STAR Originals February Highlights
Pam & Tommy – 2nd February 2022
Set in the Wild West early days of the Internet, Pam & Tommy is based on the incredible true story of the Pamela Anderson (Lily James) and Tommy Lee (Sebastian Stan) sex tape. Stolen from the couple’s home by a disgruntled contractor (Seth Rogen), the video went from underground bootleg-VHS curiosity to full-blown cultural obsession when it hit the Web in 1997.A love story, crime caper and cautionary tale rolled into one, the eight-part original limited series explores the intersection of privacy, technology and celebrity, tracing the origins of our current Reality TV Era to a stolen tape seen by millions but meant to have an audience of just two.
Torn – 4th February 2022
In 1999, climber Alex Lowe was lost in a deadly avalanche on Mount Shishapangma. Surviving the avalanche was Alex’s best friend and climbing partner, Conrad Anker, who went on to marry Alex’s widow and help raise his sons. From filmmaker, photographer and National Geographic Explorer Max Lowe, Torn turns the lens on his own family, as the body of his father is uncovered seventeen years after his death.
The King’s Man – 9th February 2022
As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man.
The French Dispatch – 16th February 2022
The French Dispatch brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city. With an all-star cast including Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Christoph Waltz, Edward Norton, Jason Schwartzman, Anjelica Huston.
The Walking Dead, Season 11, Part 2 (Of 3) – 21st February 2022
This February, The Walking Dead returns with our heroes fighting imminent hellfire under Reaper attack; or battling Mother Nature’s torrential wrath in Alexandria. For all, their world is literally crashing down around them. Meanwhile, life in the Commonwealth is not as idyllic as it seems. For some, hope will be renewed. Others will be pushed past the point of no return. One truth holds tight: Lives hang in the balance with each decision drastically changing their future, their chances of survival, and the state of each community.
The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder – 23rd February 2022
A continuation of the acclaimed series, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder follows the adventures and misadventures of newly 14-year-old Penny Proud and her family as they navigate modern life with hilarity and heart. The 2020s bring a new career for mum Trudy, wilder dreams for dad Oscar and new challenges for Penny, including a socially woke neighbour who thinks she has a lot to teach her.
No Exit – 25th February 2022
Based on the novel of the same name by Taylor Adams, No Exit follows Darby Thorne, a woman on her way to attend to a family emergency when she becomes stranded in a blizzard. In order to get home, she is forced to make her way to a highway rest stop, relying on strangers to keep her going. However, when she finds a girl who has seemingly been abducted in a van, she is forced to confront the possibility of evil living in one of the strangers that now surround her, and must face a life and death struggle to find who is the kidnapper. Havana Rose Liu, Danny Ramirez, David Rysdahl, Mila Harris, and Dennis Haysbert star.
Other Notable Additions On Disney+ UK & Star This Month
Alongside the various Originals and UK exclusives, there are some interesting boxsets and films being added to the streaming service for you to rewatch, or see for the first time.
Beginning with the tv shows, we have the first two seasons of drama ‘Harrow‘ starring Ioan Gruffudd landing on 9th February (season three aired on Alibi last year). The one and only season of sitcom ‘Rel’ lands on the 16th Feb, alongside the two seasons of Tig Notaro and Diablo Cody comedy ‘One Mississippi‘. We also have the two seasons of ‘Touch‘ starring Kiefer Sutherland, and two seasons of Shondaland legal drama ‘For the People‘, both dropping on 23rd February 2022.
On the film side, the multi-award-winning ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’ arrives alongside ‘King’s Man: The Golden Circle’, both on 4th February. Romcom ‘The Thing About Harry’, or for fans of K-Pop, there is ‘Blackpink: The Movie’, both land on 11th February. For those of you looking to hunt down alien monsters, ‘Predator’ and ‘Predator 2’ both arrive on the 18th February 2022.
