The zombie apocalypse returns this February to Disney+ UK, as an intense trailer arrives for ‘The Walking Dead‘ Season 11, Part 2 (of 3).
The series returns with many of our heroes fighting imminent hellfire under Reaper attack, while others battle Mother Nature’s torrential wrath in Alexandria. For all, their world is literally crashing down around them. Meanwhile, life in the Commonwealth is not as idyllic as it seems. For some, hope will be renewed. Others will be pushed past the point of no return. One truth holds tight: Lives hang in the balance with each decision drastically changing their future, their chances of survival, and the state of each community.
Looking at this new trailer, it does seem the Commonwealth will be getting more involved in part two. Laila Robins (‘The Boys’, ‘The Blacklist’, ‘Dr. Death’) finally makes her debut as mysterious Commonwealth governor Pamela Milton. She may be lovely, but let’s be honest, the gang has not had the best track record in their previous run-ins with “governors” on this show… Negan and Maggie still seem to be at loggerheads, as the former Saviors leader points out that Maggie may come to a point where she has to also make some tough choices. We also get a very gory shot of Mercer (Michael James Shaw) will a lot of blood on his shiny armour (that’s going to be a nightmare to clean!) Things are definitely ramping up for these next eight episodes!
The series stars Norman Reedus (Daryl), Melissa McBride (Carol), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan), Lauren Cohan (Maggie), Christian Serratos (Rosita), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Khary Payton (Ezekiel), Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko), Seth Gilliam (Gabriel), Callan McAuliffe (Alden), Cooper Andrews (Jerry) and Ross Marquand (Aaron).
The final 11th Season is 24 episodes which are split into three parts. Part one premiered in August 2021, with part two landing in February 2022, and part three arriving in late 2022 (likely October). The series previously aired on FOX UK, however, as Disney opted to shut down that channel, the final season moved to STAR On Disney+ in the UK.
Produced by AMC Studios and based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics, ‘The Walking Dead’ has shattered ratings records over ten seasons and remains the #1 series on basic cable in the USA for the 12th consecutive year, among A25-54 in L+3 viewing.
‘The Walking Dead‘ Season 11, Part 2 premieres Monday, 21st February 2022 on Disney+ UK. The series airs Sunday, February 20, 2022, at 9 pm ET/8c on AMC in the USA (or Sunday, February 13 if you have AMC+).
