‘SEAL Team’ Renewed For Season 6 By Paramount+

SEAL Team have apparently served their country (or rather, new US streaming home) well, as Paramount+ announces the drama will return for a sixth season.

The series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs, as they train, plan and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them. David Boreanaz stars as Jason Hayes, the respected and intense team leader, alongside Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley and Toni Trucks.

The drama started off as a CBS series, but was moved last year over on to their Paramount+ streaming service in the USA for the second half of season five. It seems that the fanbase was happy to follow the show to its new home, and pulled in enough eyes to get a ten-episode order for a sixth season.

“We are very excited to welcome SEAL Team back for another season on Paramount+,” commented Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series. “The show’s loyal fanbase followed the series to its new exclusive home, and it has proven to be a high-performing title for the service, consistently in the top 10 most-watched original series. We can’t wait for the fans to see what our brilliant creative team has in store for Team Bravo next season!”

Whilst the military drama airs on Paramount+ in the USA, it currently airs on Sky Max on this side of the pond, which is about to air the fifth season. However, we will soon see Paramount+ launch in the UK, so whether Sky manage to retain the rights moving forward, or ViacomCBS decide to snatch it back for themselves when the sixth season rolls around remains to be seen…

‘SEAL Team’ is produced by CBS Studios, and executive produced by Spencer Hudnut, Christopher Chulack, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Mark Owen and David Boreanaz.

‘SEAL Team‘ Season 5 premieres Wednesday, 2nd February 2022 at 9pm on Sky Max.
