‘Foundation’: Apple TV+ Announces 10 New Cast For Season 2 Of Isaac Asimov Adaptation

Apple TV+ is expanding the cast of their epic adaptation of Isaac Asimov’s Foundation with ten new cast members joining the drama.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning stories, and featuring an international cast led by Jared Harris and Lee Pace (pictured above in a “first look” image from season two), alongside rising stars Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey, the monumental adaptation chronicles the stories of four crucial individuals transcending space and time as they overcome deadly crises, shifting loyalties and complicated relationships that will ultimately determine the fate of humanity. The Apple Original drama also stars Laura Birn, Terrence Mann and Cassian Bilton.

New stars joining the cast of ‘Foundation’ for season two include:

Isabella Laughland as ‘Brother Constant,’ a cheerfully confident claric whose job is to evangelize the Church of the Galactic Spirit across the Outer Reach. Constant is a true believer, whose courage and passion make her hard not to love.

Laughland previously starred as Leanne in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies, appeared in Sony’s ‘Anne Boleyn’ mini-series, and BBC drama ‘Four Lives’.

Kulvinder Ghir as ‘Poly Verisof,’ High Claric of the Church of the Galactic Spirit. Whip-smart and sardonic, he’s also a terrible drunk — intelligent enough to see the path he’s on, but too cynical to change.

Ghir stars as Cyril ‘Still Open All Hours’, appeared in ITV drama ‘Beecham House’, and was one of the cast of ‘Goodness Gracious Me’.

Sandra Yi Sencindiver as ‘Enjoiner Rue,’ the beautiful, politically savvy consigliere to Queen Sareth. A former courtesan to Cleon the 16th, Rue parlayed her status to become a royal counsellor.

Sencindiver has recently featured in Amazon’s ‘The Wheel of Time’, and previously appeared in the dramas ‘Bäckström’ and ‘The Bridge’.

Ella-Rae Smith as ‘Queen Sareth’ of Cloud Dominion. Used to being underestimated, Sareth employs it to her advantage, charming her way into the Imperial Palace with biting wit, all while on a secret quest for revenge.

Smith played Daisy in Netflix’s ‘The Stranger’, and previously starred as Nix in AMC’s ‘Into the Badlands’.

Dimitri Leonidas as ‘Hober Mallow,’ a master trader with a sarcastic personality and questionable morals, who is summoned against his will to serve a higher, selfless cause.

Leonidas played Christos Clios in Sky drama ‘Riviera’, and also starred in Howard Overman’s Netflix series ‘The One’. Prior to that, he appeared in the films ‘Centurion’ and ‘The Monuments Men’, along with the tv series ‘Sinbad’, and ‘Grange Hill’.

Ben Daniels as ‘Bel Roise,’ the last great general of the Superliminal Fleet and would-be conqueror of the Foundation. Bel is noble to a fault, but his fealty to the Galactic Empire is waning.

Daniels is, of course, known for his multitude of tv and film roles such as ‘The Crown’, ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’, ‘House of Cards’, and ‘Cutting It’, and ‘Rogue One’.

Holt McCallany as ‘Warden Jaegger Fount,’ the current Warden of Terminus and guardian of its citizens against external threats.

McCallany is probably best known most recently for his role as Bill Tench in Netflix’s brilliant drama ‘Mindhunter’. He also has appeared in shows such as ‘Blue Bloods’, ‘Heroes’, and ‘CSI: Miami’, along with films such as ‘Jack Reacher: Never Go Back’, ‘Sully: Miracle on the Hudson’, and ‘The Ice Road’.

Mikael Persbrandt as ‘The Warlord of Kalgan,’ a monster of a man, coiled with muscle and possessing powerful psychic abilities, and fueled by hate in his quest to take over the galaxy.

Persbrandt is probably best known internationally for his role as Jakob Nyman in ‘Sex Education’, but the Swedish actor has also starred as Gunvald Larsson in the ‘Beck’ series of movies, and is known for his starring role in the Academy Award-winning feature, ‘In a Better World’.

Rachel House as ‘Tellem Bond,’ mysterious leader of the Mentallics.

House recently starred in the short-lived live-action Netflix series ‘Cowboy Bebop’, and ‘The New Legends of Monkey’, also on Netflix. She also appeared in Taika Waititi’s feature film ‘Hunt for the Wilderpeople’, played Grandmaster’s bodyguard Topaz in ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, and voiced characters in Disney/Pixar movies ‘Moana’ and ‘Soul’.

Nimrat Kaur as ‘Yanna Seldon’… Not much of a character description to this one, but that is a very interesting last name…

Kaur appeared in the excellent Showtime drama ‘Homeland’, and also starred in FOX series ‘Wayward Pines’.

‘Foundation’ is produced for Apple by Skydance Television and led by showrunner and executive producer David S. Goyer, with Robyn Asimov, Alex Graves, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost also serving as executive producers.

Foundation‘ Season 1 can be found on Apple TV+ in the UK and worldwide.
