‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series Gets Poster & May Premiere Date On Disney+

Get ready to say “hello there” to Obi-Wan Kenobi this May as Disney+ announces the premiere date, and drops a poster for the much anticipated Star Wars series.

The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of ‘Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith’ where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat – the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

Alongside Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, the series also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Also reprising their roles are Joel Edgerton as Owen Lars and Bonnie Piesse as Beru Whitesun Lars.

As is usual at this point due to the secrecy behind the Marvel and Star Wars shows, we know a bunch of the other people cast in the show, but have no idea who anyone is playing! Additional cast includes Moses Ingram (‘The Queen’s Gambit’), Kumail Nanjiani (‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Eternals’), Indira Varma (‘Carnival Row’, ‘Game Of Thones’), Rupert Friend (‘Homeland’), O’Shea Jackson Jr. (‘Straight Outta Compton’, ‘Swagger’), Sung Kang (‘Lisey’s Story’, ‘Power’), Simone Kessell (‘The Crossing’, ‘Pine Gap’) and Benny Safdie (‘Pieces of a Woman’).

‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ is directed by Deborah Chow, director of two critically acclaimed episodes of ‘The Mandalorian’, Season 1. The series is executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and writer Joby Harold. The casting director is Carmen Cuba.

Obi-Wan Kenobi‘ premieres Wednesday, 25th May 2022 on Disney+ worldwide.
