Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders & The Punisher Coming To Disney+ From March

The shows previously known as the Marvel/Netflix series will be coming to Disney+ this March in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand the streaming service has announced. That includes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Defenders & The Punisher.

For those of you who maybe have never had Netflix and have missed these series, here is a brief rundown of each show…

Daredevil (3 Seasons) – Blinded as a young boy, Matt Murdock fights injustice by day as a lawyer and by night as the Super Hero Daredevil in Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. The series stars Charlie Cox in the title role, with Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Franklin “Foggy” Nelson, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Jessica Jones (3 Seasons) – Haunted by a traumatic past, Jessica Jones uses her gifts as a private eye to find her tormentor before he can harm anyone else in Hell’s Kitchen. Krysten Ritter plays the title role, with Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker and Carrie-Anne Moss as Jeri Hogarth. David Tennant also stars as Kilgrave, the main villain in season one.

Luke Cage (2 Seasons) – A hoodie-wearing, unbreakable ex-con fights to clear his name and save his neighbourhood. He wasn’t looking for a fight, but the people need a hero. Mike Colter stars as Luke Cage, with Mahershala Ali as Cornell “Cottonmouth” Stokes, Simone Missick as Mercedes “Misty” Knight, Theo Rossi as Hernan “Shades” Alvarez, and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.

Iron Fist (2 Seasons) – Danny Rand resurfaces 15 years after being presumed dead. Now, with the power of the Iron Fist, he seeks to reclaim his past and fulfill his destiny. Finn Jones stars as Danny Rand / Iron Fist, with Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum. Rosario Dawson and Simone Missick also reprise their roles as Claire Temple and “Misty” Knight.

The Defenders (1 Season) – Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist join forces to take on common enemies as a sinister conspiracy threatens New York City.

The Punisher (2 Seasons) – A former Marine out to punish the criminals responsible for his family’s murder finds himself ensnared in a military conspiracy. Jon Bernthal stars as Frank Castle / Punisher, with Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, and Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani. Deborah Ann Woll reprises her role as Karen Page.

In addition to the series appearing on Disney+, the streaming service in the USA will finally be getting parental controls, as these dramas are obviously outside of the TV14-rating which has been the standard for the service previously. Disney+ outside of the USA (such as the UK) already has parental controls, due to the addition of the adult-oriented “Star” brand. As part of the addition of parental control, the USA will also be getting Agents Of Shield, which was missing from the service over there, but is on the UK already.

“Disney+ has served as the home for some of the most beloved brands in the industry, and the addition of these live-action shows brings more from the Marvel brand together, all in one place,” said Michael Paull, President of Disney Streaming. “We have experienced great success with an expanded content offering on Disney+ across our global markets and are excited to continue that here in the U.S. as well by offering our consumers not only great content with the new Marvel additions, but also a set of features that help ensure a viewing experience most suitable for them and their family.”

‘Daredevil’, ‘Jessica Jones’, ‘Luke Cage’, ‘Iron Fist’, ‘The Defenders’ & ‘The Punisher’ come to Disney+ UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand from Wednesday, 16th March 2022.
