‘Top Gun: Maverick’ Gets New Trailer, Coming To Cinemas In May 2022
The much anticipated (and much delayed!) ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ has got a new trailer, which sees Tom Cruise return to the iconic role of Pete “Maverick” Mitchell after 36 years… yes, you are that old!
After more than thirty years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. When he finds himself training a detachment of TOPGUN graduates for a specialized mission the likes of which no living pilot has ever seen, Maverick encounters Lt. Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), call sign: “Rooster,” the son of Maverick’s late friend and Radar Intercept Officer Lt. Nick Bradshaw, aka “Goose.”
Facing an uncertain future and confronting the ghosts of his past, Maverick is drawn into a confrontation with his own deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who will be chosen to fly it.
Alongside Cruise and Teller, the film stars Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Charles Parnell, Bashir Salahuddin, Monica Barbaro, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis with Ed Harris and Val Kilmer.
The movie was originally scheduled for a July 2019 release, but was pushed back to allow “allow the production to work out all the complex flight sequences”… Then the pandemic happened, which pushed the release back again… and again… but it will finally come to cinemas this May.
The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski, with the screenplay from Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer and Christopher McQuarrie, based on a story by Peter Craig and Justin Marks. The movie is produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, Tom Cruise, Christopher McQuarrie, and David Ellison. Tommy Harper, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Chad Oman, and Mike Stenson serve as exec producers.
‘Top Gun: Maverick’ flys onto a cinema screen near you from 25th May 2022.
