British drama ‘Top Boy‘ has been renewed for a 5th and final season Netflix has announced, which will mark the 3rd (and final) season since the show moved from Channel 4 to the streaming service.
The series follows Ashley Walters (‘Bulletproof’, ‘Sugarhouse’) and Kane Robinson as “Dushane” and “Sully”, two seasoned drug dealers who returned to the gritty streets of London, but their pursuit of money and power is threatened by a young and ruthless hustler “Jamie” (Micheal Ward).
Following the release of Season 4 (or 2, depending how you’re counting!) on Netflix earlier in March, the show quickly went to number 1 in the UK as audiences switched on to watch Jamie get out of prison and disrupt Dushane’s unrivalled rule of Summerhouse, and Sully emerge from his reclusive life to ride out for family. The finale of the season left fans with their jaws dropping. Now the stakes are at their highest and it’s time for the final reckoning.

Whilst the journeys of Dushane and Sully have remained at the core of the show, the new characters that have entered the world of Top Boy have become a key part of the show’s legacy, representing each new storyline in a raw, authentic way. With all this being said, and staying true to our original goal, every story must have an ending and so season three will be our finale. The drama is created and written by Ronan Bennett. Myriam Raja, who was a director mentee on Season 1 and went on to direct episode 6 on Season 2, will serve as lead director on the new season.
