‘Cobra Kai’ Season 5 Gets Trailer & September Premiere Date On Netflix

by Dave Elliott

Netflix has announced Cobra Kai will crane kick its way back onto the streaming service this September as they release the premiere date and trailer for Season 5.

The series takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now-successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi and faced his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who sought redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.

The new season follows the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament in season four. Terry Silver is expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his “No Mercy” style of karate the only game in town. With Kreese behind bars and Johnny Lawrence setting karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused, Daniel LaRusso must call on an old friend for help.

‘Cobra Kai’ is written and executive produced by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg via their production company, Counterbalance Entertainment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive produce for Overbrook Entertainment along with Susan Ekins in association with Sony Pictures Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka serve as co-executive producers.

Cobra Kai‘ Season 5 will premiere on Friday, 9th September 2022 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
