Disney+ has announced their live-action ‘She-Hulk‘ series will be joining the MCU line-up this August on the streaming service.
‘She-Hulk’ is a comedy that centres on Jennifer Walters, played by the amazingly talented ‘Orphan Black’ star Tatiana Maslany. Bruce Banner helps his cousin when she needs an emergency blood transfusion and guess what?… she receives his powers too! Jennifer is a lawyer specialising in superhuman-oriented legal cases. Mark Ruffalo returns is as the Hulk alongside Tim Roth, who reprises his role from the 2008 movie ‘The Incredible Hulk’ as the Abomination.
The series also stars Jameela Jamil (‘The Good Place’) as Titania, a rival of Jennifer with superhuman strength and healing, Ginger Gonzaga (‘Space Force’) as Jennifer’s best friend, and Renée Elise Goldsberry (‘Girls5eva’, ‘Hamilton’) as Amelia. Anais Almonte and Josh Segarra (‘Arrow’) also star in undisclosed roles (although Almonte is also going to be Jamil’s stunt double for the show, along with taking an on-screen role.)
‘She-Hulk’ is directed by Kat Coiro and Anu Valia, with Jessica Gao serving as head writer, and is one of a string of Marvel projects for Disney+. We’ve already had ‘WandaVision’ and ‘The Falcon and Winter Soldier‘, What If…?’, ‘Loki’, ‘Hawkeye’ and ‘Moon Knight’. ‘Ms. Marvel’ is up next premiering on 8th June 2022. ‘She-Hulk’ will be followed (in no particular order) by ‘Secret Invasion’, ‘Ironheart’, ‘Armor Wars’, and a currently untitled series set in Wakanda. On top of all those, there is a Halloween special coming in October 2022 featuring the character ‘Werewolf by Night’, and ‘The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special’ landing in December 2022.
‘She-Hulk‘ premieres Wednesday, 17th August 2022 on Disney+ worldwide.
