‘Manifest’: Netflix Releases “Sneak Peek” Of Season 4

by Dave Elliott

We don’t have a premiere date yet, but Netflix has dropped a little “sneak peek” at the 4th and final season of Manifest, which was rescued by the streaming service in August last year.

‘Manifest’ followed a turbulent but routine flight of the crew and passengers of Flight 828. However, when they disembarked they found the world had aged five-and-a-half years and their friends, families and colleagues had given up hope of ever seeing them again. Faced with the impossible, the passengers’ dreams of a second chance at life evaporated as they encounter the imminent danger surrounding them, both tangible and unexplained. But as their new realities become clear, a deeper mystery unfolds, and some of the returned passengers soon realise they might be meant for something greater than they ever thought possible. The series starred Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, J.R. Ramirez, Luna Blaise, Jack Messina, Parveen Kaur and Matt Long.

It has been a bumpy ride for the passengers of Flight 828. Back in June 2021, NBC opted to cancel the series after three seasons, much to the annoyance of fans, and the show’s creator, Jeff Rake, who had originally laid out plans for a six-season story arc. However, a week prior to the cancellation, Netflix US struck a deal with WBTV to begin streaming the first two seasons in a second-run window on the streaming service. It then sat in Netflix’s top ten for more than a month and topped the Nielsen streaming ratings in its first week of release. Originally, the streamer said no to picking up the show, but it continued to sit at the top of the US Netflix charts, which drew them back to the table to hammer out a deal.

This 4th season will be a final one, so won’t make it all the way to Rake’s six-season vision. However, it will consist of 20-episodes split into two parts, so hopefully, that means the creator has found a way to compress his vision into the shorter run… Either way, it sure beats the series ending on the season three cliffhanger!

We don’t yet know when ‘Manifest‘ Season 4 will air, other than “coming soon”, but if you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
