Charlie Cox & Vincent D’Onofrio Join Marvel’s ‘Echo’ Series On Disney+

Marvel’s Echo tv series has added two familiar faces to the cast as both Charlie Cox & Vincent D’Onofrio are set to appear in their roles as Matt Murdock/Daredevil and Kingpin.

Both Cox & D’Onofrio starred in the Marvel/Netflix series, before Disney pulled the shows from the rival streaming service to reclaim them for the MCU. Since then, (SPOILER WARNING) Cox cameoed in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ offering legal advice to Tom Holland’s Peter Parker. There is also a new ‘Daredevil’ series in the works at Disney+.

Meanwhile, D’Onofrio had a somewhat larger role in the ‘Hawkeye’ series, which also introduced Alaqua Cox as Echo, aka Maya Lopez. Kingpin is (or was) the guardian to the deaf superhero, however, Echo turned on her former father figure, apparently shooting him, although we never saw the aftermath, so we don’t know his fate. The casting of him in this series is no surprise, although it is not clear if he will ber there in flashback, or in the current timeline (or both!)

Not a huge amount is known about the ‘Echo’ series, other than it will see Alaqua Cox reprise the role of Maya Lopez, a deaf Native American character who can perfectly copy another person’s movements. Zahn McClarnon also stars as William Lopez: Maya’s deceased father and a former commander of the Tracksuit Mafia. Additional cast includes Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning and Graham Greene.

Marion Dayre (‘Better Call Saul’) serves as head writer. Sydney Freeland (‘Strange New Worlds’, ‘Reservation Dogs’) and Catriona McKenzie (‘The Walking Dead’, ‘Mythic Quest’, ‘Supernatural’) will direct episodes. Executive producers are Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Stephen Broussard, Richie Palmer, Marion Dayre and Jason Gavin. Co-executive producers are Amy Rardin, Sydney Freeland, Christina King and Jennifer Booth.

Echo‘ will premiere on Disney+ in 2023. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
