‘The Rehearsal’: Sky Comedy Sets August UK Premiere Date For Nathan Fielder’s Docu-Comedy

Sky Comedy has set an August UK air date for The Rehearsal, a new docu-comedy from Nathan Fielder (‘Nathan For You’).

The new series explores the lengths one man will go to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life. With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder allows ordinary people to prepare for life’s biggest moments by “rehearsing” them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design. When a single misstep could shatter your entire world, why leave life to chance?

So, the series basically allows members of the public to “rehearse” upcoming moments in their lives, small or large, such as parenting (by simulating the experience of raising a child from zero to eighteen), or allowing someone to test out telling someone you’ve been lying to them to see how they might respond. However, there is some speculation online as to how “real” the show actually is, and whether the “members of the public” are genuine or actors. You’ll have to watch to draw your own conclusions!

Fielder is probably best known for co-creating, directing, and starring in the Comedy Central parody reality show ‘Nathan for You’, and executive producing HBO series ‘How To with John Wilson’. He is next due to appear in Showtime series ‘The Curse’ opposite Emma Stone.

Nathan Fielder is the Executive Producer, writer, director and star. Clark Reinking is executive producer (episode 101) and Dave Paige is executive producer (episodes 102-106). Christie Smith and Dan McManus Executive Produce for Rise Management.

The Rehearsal‘ Season 1 premieres Wednesday, 24th August 2022 at 9pm on Sky Comedy and NOW.
