Geektown Behind The Scenes Podcast 62: ‘What We Do In The Shadows’ Supervising Sound Editor Steffan Falesitch

In this episode of the Geektown Behind The Scenes podcast, I’m chatting Steffan Falesitch, Supervising Sound Editor on the critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning FX series What We Do in the Shadows.

From the minds of Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi, ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ is a mockumentary comedy horror which takes a look into the daily (or rather, nightly) lives of four vampires, who’ve lived together for over 100 years, on Staten Island.

Steffan, along with the rest of the sound team, has been nominated for the Outstanding Sound Editing in a Comedy or Drama Emmy this year for the season three episode “The Escape”. The show also has nominations for “Outstanding Comedy”, “Outstanding Writing”, “Costumes”, “Sound Mixing”, and “Stunts” this year too.

Alongside WWDITS, Steffan has worked on a host of shows from ‘The Shrink Next Door’ and ‘Our Flag Means Death’ to ‘The Affair’ and ‘The L Word: Generation Q’. However, the series we are mainly talking to him about today is ‘What We Do in the Shadows’.

On a side-note, ‘What We Do in the Shadows’ has previously aired on the BBC in the UK, however, now that their deal with FX has ended, it is possible the 4th season may move straight to Disney+. At the moment we just don’t know. The fourth season is currently airing on FX in the USA.

If you want to keep track of this or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get a UK premiere date.
