TV Premiere Highlights Coming To Disney+ UK In September 2022

Disney+ UK is heading full force into September with the power of the God Of Thunder landing on the streaming service, alongside a sentient puppet, a return to Star Wars, and Pixar’s ‘Cars’ take to the road in a new series. This month also sees the second annual “Disney+ Day”, meaning the 8th of September will have a big slew of content dropping onto the service. Later on in the month, they bring even more movies, and content from across Disney’s FX, Nat Geo, and Hulu brands. Here are the highlights from Disney+ UK in September 2022.

Disney+ Originals & UK Exclusive September Highlights

Thor: Love And Thunder – 8th September 2022

‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ gets its much-anticipated home release for free on Disney+. Directed once again by the brilliant (and Oscar-winning!) Taika Waititi, the movie sees our titular character on a quest for inner peace… Unfortunately, that peace is shattered by the rise in power of Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who, as his name rather suggests, is out to butcher all other gods, thus ruining Thor’s retirement plans. To help battle the new threat, Thor enlists some friends in the form of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and Korg (Taika Waititi). We also know the Guardians Of The Galaxy make an appearance, which makes sense as the Norse God hitched a ride with the group at the conclusion of Endgame.

In addition to the film, “Disney+ Day” (8th September) will also see the release of ‘Marvel Studios Assembled: The Making of Thor: Love and Thunder’ episode of the docuseries where Taika, alongside the cast and crew, reveal the secrets behind the creation of the film.

Pinocchio – 8th September 2022

Not to be confused with the other ‘Pinocchio’ movie which is coming to Netflix soon, this is Disney’s live-action and CGI retelling of the beloved tale of a wooden puppet (voiced by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) who embarks on a thrilling adventure to become a real boy. Other characters include Geppetto (Tom Hanks), the woodcarver who builds and treats Pinocchio as if he were his real son; Jiminy Cricket (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), who serves as Pinocchio’s guide as well as his “conscience”; the Blue Fairy (Cynthia Erivo); “Honest” John (Keegan-Michael Key); Sofia the Seagull (Lorraine Bracco) and The Coachman (Luke Evans).

Wedding Season – 8th September 2022

Two months later at Katie’s wedding, her new husband and his entire family are murdered. The police think Stefan did it. Stefan thinks Katie did it. And no one knows for sure what the truth is…

The series is an action-packed romp across the UK and the US as Katie and Stefan go on the run, all while trying to prove their innocence. Rosa Salazar and Gavin Drea, with Jade Harrison, Jamie Michie, Callie Cooke, Bhav Joshi, Ioanna Kimbook, and Omar Baroud star.

Thomas Perry’s novel The Old Man is a suspenseful nail biter of a page turner and now transformed into a movie starring Jeff Bridges it makes for an excellent viewing too. Indeed, if you liked Bill Fairclough’s epic spy novel Beyond Enkription in The Burlington Files series or The Courier, the Cumberbatch film about Greville Wynne, you should love The Old Man and vice versa. Just like Ben Macintyre’s The Spy and the Traitor about KGB Colonel Oleg Gordievsky, these are all “must reads or must views” for espionage cognoscenti. PS Kim Philby ended John le Carré’s MI6 career. Later le Carré and Fairclough decided not to collaborate on The Burlington Files series. Why? Maybe because Fairclough’s MI6 handler knew Kim Philby and Oleg Gordievsky.

These sound awesome except the kardashians I could do without that being a part of disney not a fan of star wars but I accept that as it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. I was wondering will the rest of the ncis shows end up on disney plus at some point I’ve been trying to find out but can’t find anything. Also I hears a rumour that the rookie and bull was also going to be added I just want to know if the rumours are true. I love this site its my go to to finding new things to watch. Also when is s3 of Harley quinn coming out. I think you should create an app it would be so much better sorry for the lengthy comment.

The only reason NCIS is on Disney+ UK is because they had a rights option to it left over from when it was on the FOX UK channel. It’s unlikely the other NCIS shows would be on there as they are not Disney-owned shows.

Bull has nothing to do with Disney, so that won’t be on there. The first 4 seasons are on Paramount+, and the 6th Season is coming to Sky at the end of Aug.

Whilst The Rookie is made for ABC (Disney) in the USA, it is made by, and owned internationally by eOne, who sold the rights to Sky, so it is staying on Sky for as long as they want to buy it.

Unsure on when Harley Quinn S3 will drop as we’re at the mercy of E4’s random chaotic scheduling!
