‘Batwoman’ Season 3b Finally Gets UK Premiere This September On E4 Extra

After months (and months… and months…) of waiting, the final and concluding part of Batwoman Season 3 will, at last, get its UK premiere on E4 Extra later this month.

‘Batwoman’ followed Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie) as she shed her parole for the Batsuit and her van for the Batcave to carry out the legacy of Batwoman and protect Gotham’s underserved communities. Her journey continues as she and the Bat Team focus on finding Batman’s scattered trophies, a collection of objects seized from Gotham’s most infamous villains before they land in pernicious hands.

Returning with episode eight, titled “Trust Destiny”, as the team hunts for the source of Poison Mary’s power – and potential demise – Renee is forced to revisit her heart-breaking past. Meanwhile, Marquis grows more unhinged and throws a spectacularly sinister soiree at Wayne Tower – and everyone is invited.

The series was, as I’m sure most of you know, cancelled after three seasons on The CW as the network streamlined itself ready for sale to new owners Nexstar Media Group. In the UK, ‘Batwoman’ had been airing on E4, with the first half of season three running at the end of 2021. However, it never returned and was left in limbo whilst E4 treated us to such gems as ‘Bride Wars’, ‘Send Nudes: Body SOS’ and ‘Celeb Cooking School’… Then in late June, Channel 4 launched a new channel, “E4 Extra”, and they would be moving ‘Batwoman’ to air there. That would have been fine, except they decided to run the entirety of ‘Batwoman’ from the beginning during weeknights, meaning we’ve had to wait for two and a half seasons to air before we got back around to the missing episodes.

‘Batwoman’ starred Javicia Leslie, Rachel Skarsten, Meagan Tandy, Nicole Kang, Camrus Johnson, Victoria Cartagena, Robin Givens, and Nick Creegan. Based on the characters from DC, the series is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Caroline Dries, Geoff Johns, Chad Fiveash, James Patrick Stoteraux and Sarah Schechter.

Batwoman‘ Season 3, part 2 finally premieres Friday, 23rd September 2022 at 10pm on E4 Extra in the UK.

So does that mean it won’t be in HD? Not even on demand? Surely I can’t be expected to watch SD content, it’s not 1992….
Poor show E4

I like the show but it’s hard to be enthusiastic about E4 Extra finally showing the remaining half a season of a TV show that got cancelled months ago. Can’t wait until HBO Max finally comes out in the UK and we can get DC shows like Batwoman and Peacemaker at the same time as the USA.

It wouldn’t be tolerated if UK shows like Peaky Blinders or Sherlock got messed about like this by their own broadcasters. US shows like The 100, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Batwoman, Gotham etc have always looked out of place on a channel like E4 that is becoming more and more like the Channel 4 version of ITVBe every year.

Still waiting for season three of Charmed as well. Given up hope on that ever happening. Did they ever show Season two of Star Trek discovery?
