‘NCIS: Hawai’i’: Disney+ UK Suprise Drops First 3 Episodes Of Season 1 From Today!
Subscribers to Disney+ in the UK woke up to an interesting surprise drop of a show this morning, as the streaming service sneaked on the first three episodes of ‘NCIS: Hawai’i‘ Season 1 onto the platform, with further episodes landing weekly.
‘NCIS: Hawai’i’ is the latest iteration of the world’s most successful television series that continues on the seductive shores of Hawai’i as the first female Special Agent in Charge of NCIS Pearl Harbor takes command. She and her team balance duty to family and country, investigating high-stakes crimes involving military personnel, national security, and the mysteries of the island itself. This NCIS: Hawai’i team is a skilled mix of mainland transplants who’ve relocated to the tranquillity of the Pacific and wizened locals who know their mahalo from kapu.
The drama stars Alex Tarrant as Kai Holman, Jason Antoon as Ernie Malik, Kian Talan as Alex Tennant, Noah Mills as Jesse Boone, Tori Anderson as Kate Whistler, Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant and Yasmine Al-Bustami as Lucy Tara.
What makes this new arrival particularly interesting is that it is an external acquisition for Disney+ UK, not a Disney-owned show. They do also run the main ‘NCIS’ series, but that was due to them owning the license from when the series ran on the FOX UK channel before they shut it down (same with ‘The Walking Dead’). Given the sheer quantity of content Disney already own, it is very rare for them to pick up series from external broadcasters. What is even odder is that the drama is made and distributed by CBS/Paramount, who recently launched Paramount+ in the UK, so you would have thought they would have held onto it for that, but apparently not!
The new spin-off comes from ‘NCIS: New Orleans’ EP/Showrunner Christopher Silber and EP Jan Nash, alongside ‘SEAL Team’ writer/producer Matt Bosack. The drama is produced by CBS Studios.
The first 3 episodes of ‘NCIS: Hawai’i‘ Season 1 are available on Disney+ UK from today (7th Sept 2022), with new episodes landing weekly.

When is the second half of the series being streamed.
Excellent news. Would dearly love NCIS:LA on Disney Plus as well. I’m assuming it’s a licensing issue that’s preventing most seasons from being streamed here in the UK?
Yep, Sky currently still have the rights, but given Disney+ UK opted to buy this in from an outside studio for the first time, I do wonder if they may try and steal the license from Sky when it comes up for renewal. It’ll really depend on what Sky’s deal is for NCIS: LA.
I just wish they’d do the same with The Walking Dead franchise as well so that is all in one place.
I’m delighted that Disney Plus have picked this up, I’m assuming they have after realising that the first episode(s) of NCIS season 20 and of HAWA’II season 2 cross-over.
