Full Trailer Lands For ‘The Idol’ From Creator Of ‘Euphoria’, Premiering June On Sky Atlantic/HBO

Sky & HBO have released a trailer for The Idol, a brand new series co-created by Euphoria’s Sam Levinson, alongside Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Reza Fahim, with Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp in the lead roles, which premieres this June.

After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?

The cast is led by Lily-Rose Depp, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye and Troye Sivan. The drama also stars Dan Levy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Jane Adams, Jennie Ruby Jane, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Ramsey, Suzanna Son, and Hank Azaria.

The series is co-created by Sam Levinson, Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye, and Reza Fahim, who also write the series, with Levinson directing. Levinson, Tesfaye and Fahim exec produce alongside Kevin Turen, Ashley Levinson, Joseph Epstein, Aaron L. Gilbert for BRON, and Sara E. White. The drama is produced in partnership with A24.

The Idol‘ premieres Monday, 5th June 2023 at 2am on Sky Atlantic/NOW in the UK, simulcasting with HBO in the USA. It is repeated at 9pm that evening.
