Season 2 of Paramount+ comedy Frasier has begun production and Kelsey Grammer will have an old friend joining him as they announce Peri Gilpin will reprise the iconic role of “Roz Doyle” as a recurring guest star.

Produced by CBS Studios, season two of ‘Frasier’ will continue to film in front of a live studio audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles. The series follows Frasier Crane (Grammer) in the next chapter of his life after he returns to Boston to face new challenges, forge new relationships and – with hope – finally fulfil an old dream or two.

Peri Gilpin last reprised her role as Frasier’s close friend and former co-worker “Roz Doyle” in the finale of Season 1. That was just a guest spot, but she now looks to be hanging around a bit longer. She joins Grammer, along with Jack Cutmore-Scott as Freddy, Frasier’s son; Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, Frasier’s old college buddy turned university professor; Toks Olagundoye as Olivia, Alan’s colleague and head of the university’s psychology department; Jess Salgueiro as Eve, Freddy’s roommate; and Anders Keith as David, Frasier’s nephew.

‘Frasier’ comes from writers Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (Life in Pieces), who executive produce with Kelsey Grammer, Tom Russo and Jordan McMahon. It’s also been announced legendary ‘Cheers’ co-creator and director James Burrows will return to direct two episodes of the new season. CBS Studios produces the series in association with Grammer’s Grammnet NH Productions. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution outside of the Paramount+ markets.

Frasier‘ Season 1 can be found on Paramount+ UK and around the world. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
