‘Agatha All Along‘ has landed its first trailer, and it begins looking as wonderfully bonkers as the ‘WandaVison’ which spawned it.
We first met Wanda’s neighbour-turned-nemesis Agatha in 2021’s ‘WandaVision‘, and fan-favourite Kathryn Hahn returns to the MCU as the irresistible centuries-old witch. In Agatha All Along, the infamous Agatha Harkness finds herself down and out of power after a suspicious goth teen helps break her free from a distorted spell. Her interest is piqued when he begs her to take him on the legendary Witches’ Road, a magical gauntlet of trials that, if survived, rewards a witch with what they’re missing. Together, Agatha and this mysterious teen pull together a desperate coven, and set off down, down, down The Road…
Joining Hahn in the series are Aubrey Plaza as Rio, Patti LuPone as Lilia, Sasheer Zamata as Jen K, Ali Ahn as Alice, and Joe Locke as Billy Kaplan. Other cast members include Emma Caulfield Ford, Maria Dizzia, Miles Gutierrez-Riley and Okwui Okpokwasili.
The trailer opens with Hahn as “Agnes”, in what appears to be, a detective in a noir crime series. However, it pretty quickly comes up that (after some nudging by Plaza’s “Rio”) that this is the result of Wanda taking away Agatha’s magic and trapping her in the “Agnes” persona.
The series comes from ‘Wandavison’s Jac Schaeffer, who serves as head writer and lead director. It is produced by Marvel Television.
The nine-episode series of ‘Agatha All Along‘ premieres Wednesday, 18th September 2024 on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere.
