NBC has picked up Suits: LA to series, a brand new drama set in the “world” of ‘Suits’, starring Stephen Amell, Josh McDermitt, Lex Scott Davis and Bryan Greenberg.

The series follows Ted Black (Stephen Amell – Arrow, Heels), a former federal prosecutor from New York, who has reinvented himself representing the most powerful clients in Los Angeles. His firm is at a crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career. Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives.

Amell is joined on the show by:

Josh McDermitt (The Walking Dead) as Stuart Lane, an old buddy of Black’s, who, fifteen years ago, joined forces with the former New York prosecutor to build an L.A. law firm that specializes in criminal and entertainment law. Lane is energetic, powerful, focused… and self-absorbed.

Lex Scott Davis (The First Purge, Rebel) plays Erica Rollins, a savvy and strong-willed rising star who works for Ted Black. She’s shrewd enough to test the loyalty of her associates only to admire some of them for not having any.

Bryan Greenberg (One Tree Hill, The Mindy Project) plays Rick Dodsen, Ted Black’s protege in the entertainment division of Black Lane Law. Slated to be promoted, Rick is determined to stay one step ahead of his rival, Erica Rollins.

There are also a couple of additional cast who guest-star in the pilot with the potential to land recurring roles moving forward. Alice Lee (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) plays Leah, a young associate attorney who has been assigned to work with (or, as it turns out, for) entertainment attorney Erica Rollins; And Troy Winbush (The Goldbergs, The Wilds), who plays Kevin, Ted’s old friend and ex-partner who is a former FBI agent-turned-private detective.

The drama is not exactly a spin-off, but it is set in the same world as the original series, with a new cast and new stories, much like shows such as ‘CSI’ or ‘Chicago’ franchises. Currently, there is no mention of any of the original cast appearing, but the setup makes that a possibility moving forward.

‘Suits’ creator Aaron Korsh wrote the pilot, and executive produces alongside David Bartis and Doug Liman (for Hypnotic) and Gene Klein, who exec-produced on the original series. Victoria Mahoney (The Morning Show, You) directed and executive produced the pilot. UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.

NBC hasn’t yet decided exactly when ‘Suits: LA‘ will premiere. It might drop midseason (so Jan-March 2025) or could be held until the 2025/26 season (so “Fall 2025”). It obviously does not yet have a UK broadcaster. If you want to keep track of this or any other show, you can add it via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
