The Walking Dead Universe returned to San Diego Comic-Con this weekend, and brought with it a Season 3 renewal for ‘Daryl Dixon‘, and a trailer for ‘Dead City‘ Season 2.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which premieres this August on Sky and streaming service NOW in the UK, follows Dixon’s (Norman Reedus) departure from The Commonwealth as he washes ashore in France, struggling to piece together how he got there and why. The series tracks his journey across a broken but resilient France as he hopes to find a way back home.
In addition to Reedus, the series stars Clémence Poésy, Adam Nagaitis, Anne Charrier, Eriq Ebouaney, Laika Blanc Francard, Romain Levi and Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.
The second season, which will be simulcast in the UK with the USA airing on AMC, sees Daryl reunited with his best pal and fan favourite Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride.
Season 3 will follow Carol and Daryl as they continue their journey towards home and the ones they love. As they struggle to find their way back, the path takes them farther astray, leading them through distant lands with ever-changing and unfamiliar conditions as they witness the various effects of the Walker apocalypse.
The “distant lands” in question for Season 3 are Spain! Production will begin next month and be based in Madrid, with extensive location shooting planned in the Galicia, Aragon, Catalonia and Valencia regions.
‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon‘ will begin Season 1 in the UK on Thursday, 1st August 2024 at 9pm on Sky Max & NOW, with all episodes on demand. Season 2 will premiere at 2am on Monday, 30th September 2024 (and will likely be repeated in primetime) on Sky Max and NOW.
‘The Walking Dead: Dead City‘ follows fan-favourite characters Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) as they travel into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long ago cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and denizens who have made New York City their own world full of anarchy, danger, beauty, and terror.
In season two, in the growing war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to see that the way out for both is more complicated and harrowing than they ever imagined.
New cast joining for Season 2 includes Keir Gilchrist (Atypical, It Follows), in the role of “Benjamin Pierce”, Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black, Poker Face), in the role of “Major Lucia Narvaez”, Jake Weary (Oh, Canada, How to Blow Up a Pipeline), in the role of “Christos”, and Pooya Mohseni (Law & Order: SVU, See You Then), in the role of “Roksana”.
We currently don’t have a UK premiere date for ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City‘, however, we do know it will air on Sky Max and NOW after the first two seasons of ‘Daryl Dixon’ finish their run. Season 2 of ‘Dead City’ will premiere in 2025, so it’s likely Sky will do the same as they did with ‘Daryl Dixon’, dropping Season 1 just prior to the Season 2 release, and then simulcast the second season with the USA on AMC.
If you want to keep track of ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City‘, ‘The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon‘, or any other show, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when it gets a UK premiere date.
