Disney+ has set a December premiere date for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, the upcoming new series starring Jude Law, and they’ve also released some “first look” images of the show.

When four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, and meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

Jude Law plays Jod Na Nawood, apparently not a Jedi, but described by Law as a “force user” who is “someone who uses quick thinking, charm and conversation to get out of all sorts of scenarios.” He is joined by the aforementioned four kids – Ravi Cabot-Conyers who plays “Wim”, Kyriana Kratter as “KB”, Robert Timothy Smith as “Neel”, and Ryan Kiera Armstrong as “Fern”.

The series will also have a droid (of course) called SM 33, and he will be voiced by the brilliant Nick Frost. Series co-creator Jon Watts recently spoke about the character to People, saying “He’s like a rusty old, cranky droid that sort of reluctantly helps the kids along the way,” adding, “The other thing about him is that he’s the first mate of a mysterious ship.”

The series is written and created by Christopher Ford & Jon Watts (‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’), with episodes directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, David Lowery, Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Isaac Chung.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew‘ premieres Tuesday, 3rd December 2024 on Disney+ UK and worldwide.
