The ‘Yellowstone’ spin-off, previously known as ‘2024’ but now titled ‘The Madison‘, has added ‘Lost’ star Matthew Fox, alongside the previously announced Michelle Pfeiffer, Patrick J. Adams, Elle Chapman, Beau Garrett and Amiah Miller.
This next instalment in the “Yellowstone universe” is described as a heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana.
Matthew Fox plays “Paul”, a self-reliant bachelor who loves the outdoors. Fox is probably best known for his role on ‘Lost’ as “Jack Shephard”, although you may also know him as “Charlie” from ‘Party of Five’. More recently he starred in the Australian comedy-drama ‘C*A*U*G*H*T’, and Peacock mini-series ‘Last Light’.
Fox joins Three-time Academy Award nominee, Golden Globe Award winner, and Emmy nominee Michelle Pfeiffer who plays “Stacy Clyburn”, a Manhattan woman who moves to Big Sky Country in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s deaths in a plane crash.
The other previously announced cast includes Patrick J. Adams (‘Suits’) who plays “Russell McIntosh”, a young investment banker who has followed the life path set before him from the start; Relative newcomer Elle Chapman plays Stacy’s daughter “Paige McIntosh”, a somewhat self-centred woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband, Russell; Beau Garrett (‘Firefly Lane’, ‘Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce’) plays “Abigail Reese”, Stacy’s other daughter, a resilient and sardonic New Yorker, who is a recently divorced mother of two; And Amiah Miller (‘War for the Planet of the Apes’, ‘The Water Man’) plays “Bridgette”, Abigail’s eldest daughter.
In addition to the officially announced casting, rumours have been swirling for months that Kurt Russell was in talks to take one of the leading roles in the show. Prior to that, they were said to be in talks with Matthew McConaughey, although that seems to have fallen by the wayside. It’s unclear if the role Fox has taken is that leading role, or if Russell may still be in contention.
‘The Madison’ is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Michelle Pfeiffer and Keith Cox.
‘The Madison‘ does not yet have a premiere date, but will air on Paramount+ in the UK alongside all the other ‘Yellowstone’ shows (and everything else from Taylor Sheridan!)
