Danny Dyer and Ryan Sampson will return for more ‘Mr Bigstuff‘ as Sky announces a Season 2 renewal for the comedy series.
Created by Sampson, ‘Mr Bigstuff’ is a relatable, irreverent comedy about brotherhood, manhood and carpet sales in Essex. When two estranged brothers Glen (Sampson) and Lee (Dyer) find themselves under one roof in “idyllic” suburbia, their lives start to unravel faster than a cheap carpet.
Glen and his fiancée Kirsty share a perfect, perfectly mundane life together. Sure, Glen’s got crippling erectile dysfunction and Kirsty (Harriet Webb) has a secret shoplifting habit, but they’re happy. That is until Lee comes crashing into their lives, whilst on the run from a past that’s quickly catching up with him. The trio are forced together: a perfectionist, a fantasist and an anarchist all living under the same roof in an Essex cul-de-sac.
The first season of the show, which premiered in July 2024, became Sky Max’s highest-rating new original comedy for three years. Filming for the new series will start later this year in London and Essex and is set to launch on Sky and NOW in 2025.
The first season starred Ryan Sampson (Brassic, Plebs) as Glen, with Danny Dyer (EastEnders) as Lee, in his first comedy role. The cast also included Harriet Webb (I May Destroy You, Big Boys) as Kirsty, alongside Adrian Scarborough (Bloods, Gavin & Stacey, Killing Eve), Fatiha El Ghorri (Outsiders), Ned Dennehy (Culprits, Outlander), Victoria Alcock (Bad Girls, EastEnders), Geoff Bell (Absentia, The Curse), Nitin Ganatra (EastEnders), Judi Love (Strictly Come Dancing, Taskmaster). Sampson, Dyer and Webb are confirmed as returning for Season 2.
“Mr BigStuff series 2: filthy secrets, dirty lies. Someone’s gonna have to come clean,” commented Sampson.
Executive Producers include Anil Gupta and Jon Mountague for Sky Studios, Tom Miller and Sam Myer for Water & Power Productions. The new series is created and authored by Ryan Sampson with Hayley Sterling from Sky Studios producing.
