Netflix has announced a New Year’s treat for fans of their Harlan Coben adaptations as they reveal a January premiere date for ‘Missing You‘, from Quay Street Productions (Fool Me Once, The Stranger, Stay Close) starring Rosalind Eleazar, Ashley Walters, Richard Armitage and more!
The limited series focuses on Kat Donovan (Eleazar), a detective specialising in Missing Persons. Eleven years ago her fiancé Josh – the love of her life – disappeared and she’s never heard from him since. Now, swiping profiles on a dating app, she suddenly sees his face and her world explodes all over again. Josh’s reappearance will force her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past.
Rosalind Eleazar (Slow Horses, Harlots) takes the lead as Kat Donovan, with Ashley Walters (Top Boy, Bulletproof) as her Josh Buchanan. The series also stars Jessica Plummer (EastEnders, The Girl Before) as Stacey Embalo, Richard Armitage (Fool Me Once, Obsession) as Ellis Stagger, Sir Lenny Henry (Three Little Birds The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power) as Clint Donovan, Steve Pemberton (Inside No9, Happy Valley) as Titus, Marc Warren (Safe, Sexy Beast) as Monte Leburne, Samantha Spiro (Sex Education, Ridley Road) as Nurse Sally Steiner, Lisa Faulkner (Archie, Unforgotten) as Dana Fells, Mary Malone (Doctor Who, The Prince) as Aqua, James Nesbitt (Stay Close, Bloodlands) as Calligan, Matt Jay-Willis (Wolves of War, Love is Blind) as Darryl, and Rudi Dharmalingam – (The Lazarus Project, Wakefield) as Rishi.
Victoria Asare-Archer, who previously worked on ‘Stay Close’, has written the drama, with SNimer Rashed (Fool Me Once) and Isher Sahota (Ridley, Grace) as directors. Asare-Archer, Coben, Nicola Shindler, Richard Fee, and Danny Brocklehurst exec produce, and Quay Street Productions (part of ITV Studios) is the production company.
This is the sixth Harlan Coben adaptation for Netflix from Harlan Coben, Danny Brocklehurst, Nicola Shindler, and Richard Fee. Back in January, it was announced Netflix has also ordered a seventh adaptation from Quay Street, based on Harlan Coben novel ‘Run Away’. Harlan Coben serves as executive producer through his company, Final Twist Productions. In keeping with previous Harlan Coben adaptations, ‘Missing You’ relocates the story from the US to the UK. Filming took place in and around Manchester and the North West of England.
‘Missing You‘ premieres Wednesday, 1st January 2025 on Netflix UK and worldwide.
