Fans wanted it. ‘The Boys‘ boss Eric Kripke listened. It’ll be a ‘Supernatural’ reunion when the superpowered drama returns for its final season as Jared Padalecki & Misha Collins join their former boss in guest roles, along with Jensen Ackles.
‘The Boys’ is a fun and irreverent take on what happens when superheroes – who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians, and as revered as gods – abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. Intent on stopping the corrupt superheroes, The Boys, a group of vigilantes, continue their heroic quest to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought – the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages the superheroes and covers up their dirty secrets. It’s the seemingly powerless against the super-powerful.
The announcement of Padalecki and Collins joining the show came from Ackles’s social media, who posted a video stating “We’ve got work to do… again…”, with Padalecki replying “Okay, I’ll tell Misha.” You can watch the video below:

There is no news on who Jared & Misha will be playing, but they are taking guest roles in the final season of the show. Jared, Jensen, and Misha previously starred together as Sam, Dean, and Castiel in our beloved ‘Supernatural’, created by ‘The Boys’ boss, Eric Kripke.
When the main series ends next season, Ackles is due to continue his run as “Soldier Boy” on the spin-off ‘The Boys: Vought Rising‘, alongside Aya Cash. That show is a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical manoeuvres of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought. It is possible that the guest roles Misha and Jared are taking in the main show could also be related to the spin-off, or may just be a nice little easter egg for ‘Supernatural’ fans. We’ll have to wait and see!
‘The Boys’ cast includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, and Cameron Crovetti.
‘The Boys’ is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers, and developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Michaela Starr, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn, Judalina Neira, Ken F. Levin, and Jason Netter also serve as executive producers. It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Sony Pictures Television, with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film, and Point Grey Pictures.
We don’t yet have premiere dates for ‘The Boys‘ Season 5 or ‘The Boys: Vought Rising‘ Season 1, but both will air on Prime Video UK and worldwide.
