‘… Has Fallen’ TV Series Renewed For Season 2

by Dave Elliott

The TV drama based on the …Has Fallen movie franchise, which aired on Prime Video in the UK, has been renewed for a 2nd Season by original French broadcaster Canal+ from StudioCanal.

The TV series is a spin-off from the hugely popular movie franchise which starred Gerard Butler, and began in 2013 with ‘Olympus Has Fallen’, followed by ‘London Has Fallen’ (2016), ‘Angel Has Fallen’ (2019).

Season one of the drama saw a terrorist group led by the villainous Jacob Pearce (Sean Harris) attack a high-profile event. With the French Minister of Defence as their target, protection officer Vincent Taleb (Tewfik Jallab) finds himself working with street-smart MI6 operative Zara Taylor (Ritu Arya) to save the day. But when events take a dark turn, Vincent and Zara soon realize that the plan extends beyond just one politician. When they suspect that one of their colleagues in the security services is feeding information to Jacob, Vincent and Zara find themselves needing to rely only on each other. Increasingly isolated and with Jacob always one step ahead, the unlikely pair need to stop Paris from falling to a man hell-bent on vengeance.

“Studiocanal‘s first-ever global TV series Paris Has Fallen, based on the successful Has Fallen film franchise, was a smashing success in all Canal+ pay-TV territories, as well as on Amazon Prime in the UK and Hulu in the United States,” commented Canal+ CEO Maxime Saada. “It will naturally be followed by a second season now shooting in the UK.”

Saada didn’t give any more details about season two, so it isn’t clear if anyone will return from season one, or if the show will go with a more anthology format, with new leads each season. It also seems likely it may be called ‘[Something else] Has Fallen’, but we’ll have to wait and see!

The series was created by Howard Overman, the BAFTA-winning creator of ‘Misfits’, who was also behind shows such as ‘War Of The Worlds’‘Atlantis’‘Future Man’, and ‘Crazyhead’. Whilst Gerard Butler doesn’t star in the series, he is attached as an executive producer. Jeffrey Greenstein, Avi Lerner, Yariv Lerner, Jonathan Yunger, Oded Ruskin, and Alan Siegel also exec produce. The series is produced by StudioCanal.

Paris Has Fallen‘ can be found on Prime Video in the UK and on Hulu in the USA. If you want to keep track of these or any other shows, you can add them via our Never Miss system, and you’ll be notified when they get UK premiere dates.
